Stage and internship for University Student: BEHAVIOUR AND ECOLOGY OF CETACEANS IN THE PROTECTED AREA "GULF OF CORINTH"
WHO: 1-3 months or more, starting from the 1st of April 2024. WHERE: in the Natura 2000 Area "Gulf of Corinth". Accommodation at the eco-farm “Lakazeza” in bungalows for 2-4 people (www.lakazeza.com). WHO: for students willing to study cetaceans in their natural environment and to improve their knowledge on cetaceans behaviour, ecology, and acoustic. ACTIVITIES: cetacean monitoring and data collection at sea and from the land; data management; data analysis: behavioural analysis, spatial analysis, photo-identification analysis. Weekly participation in lectures on biology/ethology/ecology. During their free time, the participants can perform free activities like snorkelling. They can also visit the archaeological sites of the area. University students can develop their own thesis (minimum 3 months of data collection) in cooperation with Gaia’s researchers. IN COOPERATION WITH: Thalassa Training and Research; Eco-Farm Lakazeza. PARTICIPATION FEE: 980€/month. For a 3 months period, the fee would be 850€/month. Included: tutoring, training, research equipment, boat employment (sailing/engine boat, skipper, fuel), accommodation, meals. Not included: travel costs, activities during free time. ALL ACTIVITIES ARE CARRIED OUT ACCORDING TO WEATHER CONDITIONS.
